Dr. Stefanie Trümper joined GERICS in June 2021. She supports the work of the GERICS director and chair of the German Committee Future Earth (DKN), who acts as one of three co-chairs of the Science Platform Sustainability 2030 (wpn 2030) – a project that has been funded by the BMBF since 2017 and accompanies the further development of the German Sustainability Strategy (DNS) at the interface between science and politics.

Previously, Stefanie Trümper worked as a personal consultant and research associate, amongst others at the German Climate Association (DKK) in Berlin, where she led the conceptualisation and coordination of the K3 Congress on "Climate Communication in Times of Social Transformation". After studying journalism at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences and media culture at the University of Bremen, she taught and conducted research in the Cluster of Excellence "Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction (CliSAP)" at the University of Hamburg (UHH), where she completed her PhD in communication studies on the topic "Sustainable Memory in Journalism." She then worked in the operational coordination of the Hamburg Open Online University (HOOU) and conducted research on digital innovations in higher education at the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH).

Stefanie Trümper is particularly interested in the strategic role and design of solution-oriented science communication and science-based policy advice.
