Lena Rölfer works as a PhD Student at the Climate Service Center Germany. Her PhD project focuses on the development of coastal climate services to support area-based management of the coast and ocean space, such as Integrated Coastal Management (ICM), Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) or Marine Spatial Planning (MSP).

After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences at Oldenburg University, Lena obtained a Master’s degree in the program “International Studies in Aquatic Tropical Ecology” (ISATEC) at University of Bremen. She conducted her master thesis research with the University of Queensland, Australia investigating the impacts of global warming and ocean acidification on a specific coral-algal interaction in the Great Barrier Reef.
